Lampinsaari Camping

Lampinsaari Camping
The centre of the Lampinsaari village holds a camping area, swimming pond, sauna with showers and toilets, and a pavilion that houses a café that is open during the summer. The camping area is open from 15 May to 30 September. The surrounding area features nature trails, birdwatching towers, lean-tos and a lodge for overnight stays. The nature in the area is rich with tasty berries, and the Ristonaho hunting and fishing associations provide guidance on fishing and hunting as well as nature-related education. In Lampinsaari, the nature is not only close by, it is all around you.
The Lampinsaari area is highly valuable in terms of cultural history. It was originally built as a residential area for workers of the Vihanti zinc mine in the 1950s. The mining operations were discontinued in the 1990s, but the mine left a lasting mark on the surrounding environment. Thanks to successful landscaping and restoration efforts, the village now boasts a diverse recreational area that provides opportunities for all manner of activities from hiking to birdwatching.
