Saloisten Pirtti – the spare part bank for heritage building
In the historical heart of our region, along the Old Coast Road in the village of Saloinen (Salo) dating back to the Middle Ages, stands Saloisten Pirtti, a former rural society hall and municipal hall. Today, the Pirtti hosts a spare part bank for heritage building, a summer café, the Minidatasaab exhibition and the new Pirtti Bookshelf containing old books and magazines from Saloinen.
The Pirtti is open on summer Saturdays from 11 am to 3 pm or by appointment. Call us and book a visit.
The Old Bothnian Coast Road has connected the towns at the mouths of rivers on the west coast since the Middle Ages. In the late Middle Ages, the Coast Road along the west coast was a passageway and postal route that continued around the Gulf of Bothnia all the way to the south of Sweden. There is an information board about the history of the Coast Road on the wall of the Pirtti.
