The culturally and historically valuable wooden town area of Raahe, Old Town Raahe, is one of the gems of tourism in our region. Old Town Raahe has been given its own brand, which can be used to promote the area both nationally and internationally.

We wanted to create a brand that would enable us all to work together to strengthen the appeal and vitality of Old Town Raahe and support the sustainable growth of tourism and business in the region. The objectives of the Old Town Raahe brand include:

  • to promote the development of Old Town Raahe and the Raahe region as an interesting and distinctive place to live and visit
  • to act as a driver for business growth in the region, particularly in the development of tourism, creative industries, experiences, and local products
  • to act as a unifying force for operators in different sectors, which can be utilized in a variety of ways by companies and communities throughout the Raahe region

The Old Town Raahe brand includes a variety of elements, such as the brand story, core messages, and the logo and text logo in different languages. These elements are used in a variety of ways in the Raahe region's tourism marketing carried out by Visit Raahe and in the City of Raahe's communications, for example in resident and event marketing. In addition, we want to invite companies and communities in the area to make versatile use of the brand elements in their own communications and productization. With the brand, you can easily communicate to your customers that your product, service, or event is part of the unique history and story of Old Town Raahe.

The Old Town Raahe logo and Old Town Raahe text logos are registered trademarks. The brand and its elements are owned by the City of Raahe.

How to use the brand

Non-commercial use

You can use the Old Town Raahe brand story, core messages, and brand colors, as well as the Old Town Raahe logo and text logos, for non-commercial use by filling out the usage notification form.

Non-commercial use refers to, for example, displaying the Old Town Raahe logo on a company's or organization's premises or in communications, such as on websites, social media, or in printed marketing materials, without it being an integral part of a specific product or service.

Commercial use

If you want to manufacture and sell products, services, or events branded with the Old Town Raahe trademark or text logo, this constitutes commercial use of the brand. Commercial use requires a license application and a separate agreement with the City of Raahe.

Terms of use for the Old Town Raahe trademark and text logo, non-commercial and commercial activities

The aim of using the Old Town Raahe brand is to promote tourism and business in the area, as well as the use of local products and services, and to highlight the cultural and historical significance of the old town.

The City of Raahe always evaluates applications for commercial use on a case-by-case basis. Local products and services are given priority in the use of the logo. No one is granted exclusive rights to use the Old Town Raahe logo or text logos.

Commercial use of the label or text logos may be granted to a product or service that meets the following criteria:

  • The product is designed or manufactured in Finland, where possible.
  • The product is in some way related to Old Town Raahe, its history or story.
  • The product or service has been produced ethically and in accordance with the values of the city of Raahe.
  • Responsibility has been taken into account in the design, production, sale, and distribution of the product or service, promoting the principles of sustainable development.
  • The right to make changes is reserved.

We encourage all users of Old Town Raahe brand elements to link the digital use of logos to the Old Town Raahe tourism website, as well as to mention the website in print materials whenever possible.

There is no charge for using the brand.

We will provide a link to our logo material bank once both parties have signed the license agreement (commercial use) or once we have processed your application for use (non-commercial use).

Terms of use

  • The City of Raahe owns the Old Town Raahe brand and all elements belonging to it.
  • The use of logos is only permitted in accordance with the terms and conditions set by the city.
  • Logos may not be modified, cropped, or combined with other symbols.
  • Different language versions of the logos must be taken into account in foreign-language communications.
  • Use in political contexts or in contexts that violate the law or good manners is prohibited.
  • The right of use may not be transferred to third parties.
  • An agreement is always required for commercial use.
  • The city may prohibit use due to violation of the terms of use.
  • Users commit to the city's values: courage, responsibility, fairness, and community spirit.
  • When using the logos digitally, it is recommended to link to the website visitraahe.fi/wanharaahe
