The frost is cracking on the corners of the wooden houses of the old town. Christmas elf Briskie is strolling down Rantakatu street lost in his own thoughts. He seems to be a little off course tonight, or maybe he's just overworked. Could it be a burnout?
Elf Briskie has dashed to Pekkatori square but can't quite recall why. Perhaps the ghosts are on the move tonight, and they've carried him along? He knows that at least Alexander I isn't haunting, despite causing quite a commotion in Raahe in 1819. Everyone was in a tizzy when Emperor Alexander I visited here during his tour of Finland. The handsome emperor charmed his subjects, especially the young mademoiselles, all over the country. The emperor was accommodated by the Pekkatori square in Frieman's house. To this day, it is said that an apparition resides in the house, and many people from Raahe have reported seeing it. However, it's not the emperor.
- I don't believe in ghosts, Elf Briskie assures himself. He's baffled by the fact that his electronic notebook has gone silent. Nobody has made an update tonight. Maybe an Angry Bird is swooping around causing trouble and has interrupted the connection.
- Are there angels? Probably, since there are also elves, Briskie concludes. According to some reports, there have been sightings of at least cigarette angels around the vicinity of Cortenkatu street.
